Located between Swansea city centre and the beach, the Civic Centre has long been one of the city's most recognisable buildings. The emerging proposals seek to repurpose the existing structure, creating new homes alongside leisure, hospitality, retail and community spaces, while strengthening connections between the city centre and the waterfront, creating an amazing destination that brings people together.

By retaining and adapting the existing building, the scheme represents a significant opportunity to reimagine a landmark destination for future generations.

Civic is supporting the project team with structural, civil and transport engineering expertise, helping to inform the redevelopment proposals as they continue to evolve. Working collaboratively across services, our team is contributing to the transformation of this landmark building while respecting its heritage and supporting its long-term future.

Rob Westcott, director in our London studio, commented:

"Some of the greatest opportunities for regeneration come from the buildings that are already part of a city's identity. Swansea Civic Centre occupies a unique position on the waterfront, and projects like this show how thoughtful retrofit can give these places a new lease of life, preserving what makes them special while adapting them to meet today's needs and those of future generations."
