Winners of a Greater Manchester Good Employment Award for our positive culture
Recognised for our strong commitment to championing a positive workplace for our people to thrive
We’re proud to have been awarded the ‘most improved – large business’ award by Greater Manchester Good Employment Awards.
Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter, who run the awards, is a voluntary initiative aimed at raising employment standards across the region.
The Charter sets out seven characteristics of good employment, all underpinned by the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion. These are: secure work, fair pay, inclusive recruitment, flexible working practices, support for health and wellbeing, employee engagement and voice, and effective people management.
Kat Dewell and Tara Stubbs in our People and Culture team shared why winning the Greater Manchester Good Employment award means so much to our team at the awards.
Here at Civic, everyone has a voice, can be their authentic self and enjoy what they do. That creates the foundation for them to lead happy and healthy professional lives and gives them a place where they can start, shape and develop their careers.
Caroline Todd, director of people and culture at Civic, said:
"We are extremely proud of this achievement. Our culture is something we’ve worked hard to protect and nurture, especially as our team has grown significantly over the past year. We’re fully committed to creating a culture that values and respects the unique perspectives, experiences and backgrounds of all our people, so they feel seen for who they are as an individual.
“Manchester is where Civic began its journey more than 10 years ago, and we are passionate about our responsibility to leave a positive legacy - in our work, in our neighbourhoods across Greater Manchester, and for the next generation. Our aim is to help people lead happier, healthier lives. This is our conscience and what it means to be team Civic - of the place and the people."
Brilliant to be recognised for it in Manchester, where Civic first began its journey!
