Heritage Management Consultant

Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, London

Archaeological Consultant who will produce reports relating to the planning process including desk-based assessments, historic environment assessments, heritage setting assessments, environmental impact assessments, environmental statement chapters, risk assessments and written schemes of investigation. Responsible for providing advice to clients on a wide variety of archaeology and heritage projects to inform and support a range of development proposals. Knowledge of the planning process and national and local planning legislation. Experience with working on projects across the UK, across a range of sectors. Additional skills – Heritage Townscape Visual Impact Assessments and Conservation Management Plans.

Key elements of the job

  • Producing a variety of reports (Microsoft Word)
  • Self-checking and reviewing other team members reports
  • Preparation and presentation of data in QGIS
  • Liaising with clients, key stakeholders, HER officers and local planning archaeologists
  • Input into bids and preparing fee proposals
  • Placing HER orders and submitting purchase order forms relating to HER and archive orders
  • Responsible for own time management
  • Community engagement and / or educational presentations, when required
  • Business development

Is this you?

  • Degree in Archaeology/History (or related / relevant field)
  • Chartered Institute for Archaeologists membership or Institute of Historic Building Conservation
