Why Scotland is a global investment hotspot

The world needs to take note of Scotland’s build environment. Its rich heritage, quality of construction, innovative design and strong policy frameworks, are just a few of the reasons Scotland is such an attractive place to invest.

We’ve had a presence in Scotland for over 8 years, and been involved in some extraordinary projects over that time. Including:

  • Edinburgh Innovation Hub - a flexible, multi-occupied serviced laboratory and office building we designed.
  • Glasgow Avenues - enabling infrastructure and integrating vibrant public spaces.
  • Custom House Quay - civil, marine, hydrology engineering, and community engagement expertise at work.

We’ve recently expanded our Scotland team, welcoming Becky McLean to lead our new environmental and sustainability service. This senior hire reflects our commitment to sustainable growth and innovation in the built environment, both in Scotland and across the UK.

We’ve worked closely Place for many years now, and are excited for another exciting opportunity to do so.

Why MIPIM matters

MIPIM is a highlight of our calendar - a place to collaborate with like-minded professionals and tackle urgent challenges such as climate change. The conversations and ideas shared always leave us inspired for the future of our industry.

MIPIM will be a great stage to showcase all that Scotland has to offer.

Isla Jackson, Director in Scotland, Civic said, “There is some fantastic work taking place in Scotland and it’s vital we have a presence at MIPIM which enables us to showcase our incredible investment opportunities to an international audience and take part in the conversations so everyone recognises that Scotland is open for business. Our teams based in the North have worked with Place for some time, so we are well aware of their connections, their credibility and their ability to build partnerships. It’s exciting to work with them to be a founding sponsor of the Place Scotland delegation.”

Thanks to Place to making this project possible, and to the other founding sponsors who helped bring it to life.

If your business wants to connect with global investors, developers, and decision-makers as part of this collective then this is your invitation to be part of the story. Visit our website to get in touch with Isla and find out about the different packages available and how you can get involved.
