I joined Civic in 2026, bringing almost 15 years of experience in structural engineering. Born in Japan and raised in North London, I studied Civil Engineering at Imperial College London, graduating in 2011, and became a Chartered Structural Engineer in 2018.
My career has taken me across a broad range of work. I started out as a temporary works engineer for a demolition contractor, before moving into permanent works, ranging from historic schools to a mass timber visitor centre. More recently, my projects have spanned health centres, new residential developments, town centre shopping centres, and the retrofit of commercial spaces in central London.
I'm driven by the idea that good engineering should genuinely improve the places people live and work in, and I enjoy the problem-solving that comes with every new project, especially retrofit ones.
Outside of work my time is mostly taken up by my newborn son, though I still make time to catch basketball highlights when I can, even if I've swapped playing for watching, for now
