I believe that the built environment should transform lives and communities, and that infrastructure and placemaking can deliver more for society.
Advancing design quality and placing it at the heart of large-scale development has been my focus for more than two decades.
I care about making a positive difference and influencing shared agendas across the built environment. My experience spans advisory roles at national level, including as a Commissioner at the National Infrastructure Commission (NIC/NISTA) Board Member at Homes England, and as a Founding Director of Stirling Prize-winning architecture practice dRMM.
As Senior Advisor to NLA and Chair of the New London Sounding Board, I continue to help shape the New London Agenda, and to enhance the organisation’s influence at a political level. I am a past member of the Net Zero Building’s council, deputy chair of the Thames Estuary commission, and a former Mayor’s Design Advocate for the Greater London Authority (GLA).
I was honoured to be awarded an OBE for services to design advocacy by HM the Queen in 2020.
