After graduating and a stint in my university city of Nottingham, I gained a research placement with Block Research Group, working under Philippe Block at ETH Zurich. The research they do on creating complex geometries from pure structural forms – shell, funicular and dome structures – is unparalleled and still to this day provides me with inspiration on efficiency in design.
I spent over ten years in London with AKTII having the privilege to be involved in a range of projects, such as Bloomberg’s Stirling Prize-winning European Headquarters. I then moved to Manchester in 2018. In 2020 I joined the thriving Civic team, now overseeing the Manchester structural engineering team as Regional Director.
I am passionate about travel, live music, participating in and watching sports, getting into the wild and am a bit of a cavalier DIY’er. My two young boys keep me on my toes and very much in trouble!
