Hi, I'm James, a design focused chartered engineer with a general engineering foundation and a multi-discipline professional background. I'm passionate about creating high-quality architecture and enjoy developing creative solutions to overcome engineering problems. I have over ten years post-graduate experience in multi-disciplinary design of architecturally challenging buildings. My previous position was project engineer where I spent six years in the Manchester studio of BDP delivering projects across a wide range of sectors. Recent projects at Civic have included residential new builds on heavily contaminated and constrained sites, a grade II* listed mill building and a mixed-use building ‘extension’ to a cathedral.
I'm also a visiting lecturer at the Manchester School of Architecture, undertaking design project critiques and tutorials with final year (part II) architecture students and Industrial Project tutor for University of Manchester Civil Engineering degree course.
In my spare time, I can be found in the swimming pool, on his bike or out running.
