Hi I’m Graham, Associate Director at Civic Heritage, particularly focused on archaeological fieldwork.
I have worked in commercial archaeology since 1990, beginning my training as part of the Manpower Services Commission, and later completing a part time Bachelors degree. I have worked extensively across the UK, Germany, France, North Africa, Turkey and the Middle East, as well as spending a while working as a mining surveyor across a swathe of Africa, but have always eventually gravitated back to my home town of Manchester.
During my career I have worked on sites of all types and periods, but tend to specialise in Industrial and Roman archaeology. I am also very keen on public engagement in archaeology and see the sharing of knowledge with the community as an essential part of what we do as archaeologists.
Away from work I love live music, I play guitar and I enjoy camping and hiking.
