Hello, I’m Gabby, and I joined the Earth team at Civic in July 2026.
I’m a chartered Geologist with over 15 years’ experience in geotechnical and geo-environmental consultancy and contracting, spanning ground investigation, ground models, geotechnical design and geohazard assessment including slope stability, mining and settlement and back analysis of failures. I’m also involved in the wider geotechnical community, sitting on the ICE Northwest geotechnical committee and the Geological Society’s Northwest regional group committee.
Day to day, I help clients assess and manage ground-related risks so developments can proceed safely, economically and with confidence in the ground beneath them.
What drew me to Civic was the values, a genuine commitment to diversity, to doing right by people and planet, and to a workplace where everyone has a purpose and a voice.
Outside of work, I’m usually pottering around my garden, hiking or cycling and I’m a keen skier. My music taste runs the full spread from classical to techno, and I still love festivals. I’m learning piano and French, both slowly, and the rest of my time goes to my book club, friends and family, including my two dogs.
