Hi, I’m Ellie, a Heritage Management Consultant based in Manchester. In my role I research and write desk-based assessments, heritage impact assessments, and heritage chapters for larger reports.
I graduated from the University of Birmingham with an MA in Medieval Studies in 2022 and taught in a college for a year, before discovering my ideal career path— heritage! History is one of my main passions, from visiting National Trust sites as a kid to spending hours researching Arthuriana for my degree. After starting my career at Historic England, I joined Civic’s Archaeology & Built Heritage team in April 2026.
I am especially passionate about protecting and enhancing our beautiful historic environment in environmentally sustainable and community-focused ways, so Civic’s values, alongside getting to work on such a diverse range of projects, leaves me really excited to get stuck in!
In my spare time, I live, eat, and breathe music and can usually be found in the front row of as many gigs as I can feasibly get to. When I can’t do that, I’m writing, and saving all my rejection emails in a special folder.
