Hi I’m Brett, a civil engineering technician in Glasgow.
I grew up in Coatbridge, Scotland. I hold higher national certificates in Computer Aided Draughting & Design, Civil & Environmental Engineering, SVQ Level 6 in Built Environment & Design and I am a member of the Institute of Civil Engineers (EngTech MICE) specialising in Civil, Infrastructure & Environmental Engineering. I have worked in the industry for 10 years now gaining experience in several different areas of the industry.
Over the course of my career, I have become passionate about working on sustainability-focused projects that provide sustainable transport solutions and help facilitate healthier lifestyles. I have worked across a variety of teams, developing a diverse range of skills in many stages of project delivery and specialising in delivering active travel infrastructure, commercial developments, residential developments & general infrastructure projects.
Civic’s values are aligned closely with mine own, as I strongly believe in striving to protect and enhance our natural environment, as well as helping enable people of all ages and abilities to lead healthier and happier lives.
In my spare time, I play rugby for Lenzie Rugby Club in East Dumbartonshire although approaching retirement after many years playing. I enjoy getting out and about in nature, the gym, travelling in the UK & Internationally. I have completed inter-railing trips in Germany, Austria & Italy in recent years and plan on doing more in the years to come.
