Hi, I’m Alex, a Structural BIM Technician based in Civic’s Manchester studio. Before switching careers in 2020, I spent 13 years as a Powder Coater. Since beginning my career as a CAD technician, I’ve developed a strong interest in digital construction, BIM, and Revit modelling. I’m passionate about the idea that the built environment can achieve more through a digital platform.
I completed my HNC in Construction and the Built Environment in 2023 and now study Civil Engineering (BEng Hons) part-time at the University of Bolton. Before moving into the field of Civil Engineering, I worked in the façade sector, as a CAD Technician and contributed to hospital projects involving curtain wall screens and windows.
Outside of work, I enjoy time with my family and supporting my 11-year-old son, who plays tuba in two brass bands. I travel across the country for his concerts—and love hearing the bands perform.
