I’m A.J, a Dubliner.
I am a Senior Civil Engineer based in Dublin with over eight years of experience in Transport Engineering and Transport Planning. As a 2016 graduate of Trinity College Dublin, I hold a BA in Mathematics and a BAI (Hons) in Civil, Structural, and Environmental Engineering.
My career has included roles at Arup and AECOM, in both Ireland and Australia, and I have contributed to international projects in the UK, Germany, and Bhutan.
Initially focused on detailed road and drainage design, my role has evolved towards urbanism. I now specialise in the early stages of transport projects, from planning to concept and preliminary design. I am passionate about creating innovative, holistic solutions that improve people's lives by enhancing their environments and excel in creative, collaborative, multidisciplinary project settings.
Civic’s values of designing with both technical and emotional intelligence greatly appealed to me. The projects we work on should be holistically designed, considering the people, history and culture of the area as well as the infrastructure elements.
Outside of the studio I am a bit of a dilletante, interested in many, many things even if fleetingly so. I am deeply interested however in film, music and literature. I write in my spare time and have had a short fiction story published in a Dublin literary magazine.
