Hello, I'm Aisling, a Chartered Ecologist and Principal Consultant at Civic.
I was delighted to join Civic's Environment and Sustainability team in early 2026, as I'm passionate about helping clients deliver projects that create positive outcomes for both people and nature, which aligns perfectly with Civic's values and ambitions.
With over 14 years' experience in ecology and environmental consultancy, I lead and manage biodiversity and ecological assessments for complex projects across a wide range of sectors, including; housing, transport, ports, infrastructure, renewables, mining and agriculture. I enjoy working closely with clients, design teams and stakeholders to develop practical, sustainable solutions that balance project objectives with ecological requirements.
My technical experience includes Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA), Habitat Regulations Assessments (HRA), Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments, Species Protection Plans (SPPs), Biodiversity Action Plans (BAPs), ornithological surveys, protected species surveys, botanical and habitat surveys, and GIS-based ecological mapping using QGIS.
Outside work, life is kept busy with my husband, children and our family farm. I'm also captain of our local women's touch rugby team (my full-contact playing days are firmly behind me!) and, when I get the chance, you'll usually find me exploring the countryside or coastline with our much-loved Border Collie.
