The Eden Building, New Bailey

A 115,000 sq ft 12-storey office, one of the UK’s most energy efficient buildings with a NABERS 5.5 rating and home to Europe’s largest living wall. Our engineers received the RIBA Stage 3 design and undertook value engineering with the contractor to bring down the cost and embodied carbon. This included load reduction and structural engineering refinement, which produced savings on the frame and the foundations, with a 27% reduction in the tonnage of the steel frame and a 33% reduction in the diameter of the pile foundations.
