Transforming College Green into an inclusive welcoming, safe and vibrant pedestrian-friendly space connected with nature.

The project will create a vibrant pedestrian-friendly space at the heart of the city, which prioritises universal accessibility, social inclusion, safety, sustainability, biodiversity and greening. It will restore and enhance the history and heritage of the unique location, which extends from South Great George’s Street to Trinity College. Under the proposals, the area will become traffic-free, apart from timed deliveries and limited local access.

It will provide a world-class, multi-functional space, which complements some of Dublin’s most illustrious historical buildings, notably Trinity College and the Bank of Ireland, allowing more space for people to enjoy cultural and recreational events, celebrations and social activities.

Prioritising sustainability and greening in the development of the design, the project supports the City’s Climate Action Plan and will provide safe cycle routes and support the local economy by enhancing footfall.

Working with Scott Tallon Walker and OKRA our designs will centre around nature-based solutions to assist with greening, biodiversity and sustainability.
