Strengthening our leadership team with the appointment of Sadie Morgan OBE as Non-Executive Director
Professor Sadie Morgan OBE joins the Civic board
We’re proud to welcome renowned architect and design advocate Sadie Morgan OBE to Civic as a Non-Executive Director, strengthening our leadership as we continue to grow our impact for people, place and planet.
Sadie is one of the UK’s most influential voices in the built environment, widely recognised for her leadership in advancing design quality and her ability to influence shared agendas across the built environment.
Her experience spans senior national advisory roles, including Commissioner at the National Infrastructure Commission (NIC), Board Member at Homes England, and Founding Director of Stirling Prize-winning architecture practice dRMM.
Sadie’s ability to shape national conversations and open doors to influential networks will strengthen our voice and accelerate our ambition to deliver meaningful, positive impact. Her expertise complements our passion for design-led thinking and climate resilience, while offering a fresh perspective on how infrastructure and placemaking can deliver more for society.
Sadie Morgan, Non-Executive Director, said: “Civic’s passion, vision and authenticity resonate strongly with me. Having stepped back from dRMM, I’m excited to take on advisory roles that allow me to make a difference. Civic’s ambition to grow, and its care for people and place, align perfectly with my own belief that the built environment should transform lives. I look forward to being a critical friend to the leadership team – challenging, supporting and amplifying the great work Civic is already doing.”
Stephen O’Malley, Chief Executive of Civic, said: “Civic is evolving, and our offer is diversifying and strengthening. As we enter the next phase of Civic’s growth, it was a natural step to review the diversity and expertise of our board. Sadie brings fresh energy, expansive thinking, diplomacy and a rich pedigree of effecting positive change that will help us be the best version of ourselves. Her perspective will accelerate our progress and enhance our ability to deliver meaningful impact across the built environment.”
Operating out of studios in London, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dublin, our ambitions have always gone beyond traditional engineering. An early adopter of climate resilience, we have built a reputation for integrating sustainability and system thinking into projects. Sadie joins a strong leadership board including Executive Chair Dominic Miller, CEO Stephen O’Malley, COO Julian Broster and CFO Simon Edwards.
Our leadership structure reflects our ambitions to scale responsibly while staying true to our values of collaboration, climate responsibility and positive impact. We remain committed to maintaining our people-focused culture – one built on long-term relationships and the belief that financial strength should always be a means to a greater purpose, not the end goal.
