NLA’s Homes for Londoners: Sustainable Approaches to Net Zero
Rob Westcott to share the latest sustainable approaches to housing design, delivery and maintenance
Rob Westcott, director in our London studio, is set to share insights at NLA’s upcoming event, Homes for Londoners: Sustainable Approaches to Net-Zero, taking place 22nd January.
As part of NLA's Housing programme, the session will explore sustainable approaches to housing design, delivery and maintenance.
London’s public housing sector is increasingly embracing low-carbon technologies and fabric-first principles to meet the city’s growing needs while strengthening environmental resilience.
With population growth and climate pressures intensifying, the demand for high-quality, energy-efficient homes has never been greater.
From low-carbon new-build developments to innovative retrofit strategies that extend the life and performance of existing stock, new methodologies are redefining what sustainable public housing looks like.
This session will examine:
- The challenges and opportunities of integrating sustainable design, long-term maintenance strategies
- Cost-effective delivery models into both new-build and retrofit programmes
- How these sustainable approaches can act as catalysts for healthier neighbourhoods, reduce carbon footprints, and improve long-term affordability
Rob will share the story of sustainable estate renewal behind Sutton Estate, the award-winning retrofit of one of the country’s oldest purpose-built social housing developments into modern, sustainable social housing alongside HTA.
Rob will be joined by a great line-up of speakers at the event, including:
- Melissa Dowler, Director, Bell Phillips Architects
- Frederick Fasola, Associate Architect, Maccreanor Lavington
- Rodrigo Garcia Priego, Head of Energy and Carbon, Greengage
We hope to see you there.
