Hi I’m Barbara, Place Lead & Architect, and I joined the team in 2022.
My work spans built design projects, feasibility studies, and the design and delivery of complex engagement programmes. This includes developing retrofit proposals for buildings across Scotland, creating action plans for urban and design strategy implementation, and facilitating stakeholder and community workshops. I have contributed to major city-wide consultations, like the Glasgow Liveable Neighbourhoods project, and I’m currently supporting rural communities in Scotland in developing their Local Place Plans.
I’m passionate about participatory architecture and collaborative processes, especially their role in shaping urban and social regeneration. My work aims to promote inclusive, sustainable solutions that enhance the quality of life for communities by creating spaces that meet real needs.
In 2023, I was selected as one of four ‘Under 40 Experts’ to participate in the Creative Communities 2023 Residency, a community-led policy-making project in Southern Italy. This initiative led by Fondazione Matera-Basilicata 2019 and funded by the European Union, focused on community-driven approaches to policy and design.
