We’re proud to have joined Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter, a voluntary initiative aimed at raising employment standards across the region that Civic was founded in.

We’re really pleased to have successfully met its high standards for fair pay, secure work, and excellent people practices, an excellent reflection of our collaborative, inclusive and respectful culture.

Here at Civic, everyone has a voice, can be their authentic self and enjoy what they do. That creates the foundation for them to lead happy and healthy professional lives and gives them a place where they can start, shape and develop their careers.

The Charter sets out seven characteristics of good employment, all underpinned by the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion. These are: secure work, fair pay, inclusive recruitment, flexible working practices, support for health and wellbeing, employee engagement and voice, and effective people management.

Caroline Todd, director of people and culture at Civic, said:

"We are extremely proud of this achievement. Our culture is something we’ve worked hard to protect and nurture, especially as our team has grown significantly over the past year. We’re fully committed to creating a culture that values and respects the unique perspectives, experiences and backgrounds of all our people, so they feel seen for who they are as an individual.

“Manchester is where Civic began its journey more than 10 years ago, and we are passionate about our responsibility to leave a positive legacy - in our work, in our neighbourhoods across Greater Manchester, and for the next generation. Our aim is to help people lead happier, healthier lives. This is our conscience and what it means to be team Civic - of the place and the people."

We’re fully committed to creating a culture that values and respects the unique perspectives, experiences and backgrounds of all our people, so they feel seen for who they are as an individual.
